Stretching Your Dollars

You know times are getting tougher and people are spending less. One thing I have done over the years is to learn how to make my own repairs on everything from household, to cars, lawnmowers, etc. I have a really good pair of Dunham hiking boots. Bought them in 1996 and they have served me well over the last 7 years. This past winter the tread separated from the boot and the more I hiked the more it separated. Instead of tossing the boots out I JB welded them back together.
Then I borrowed a friends truck and he had a leak around the part that the hose hooks to on his radiator. He said toss in some bars leak and it should be fine. Well, the Bars Leak didn't work. I carefully removed the hose and saw the hose throat was separating from the radiator. So a wire brush, some Denatured alcohol and of course my favorite JB Weld. Works like a champ now. So, when all else fails grab some JB Weld, Duct tape, or trap wire and you can fix anything. Remember if the women don't find you handsome you better be a good handyman. :-)
